Many healthy incentives to quit smoking
Less then 30 years ago smokers were shown on television shows and in the movies lighting up their cigarettes. There were very few people who were against smoking. Despite the earliest warnings about the health hazards of cigarettes, there was no real push to get people to quit smoking.
Smoking is an addictive habit that normally begins when a person is in their teen years or early into their 20’s. It is very easy to become hooked on cigarettes but not nearly as easy to quit smoking, as people would like to think. Even with evidence of the dangers, many people are still finding it hard to quit smoking.
There is both mental and physical addiction.
The main drug in cigarettes is nicotine. It can take up to a week to work out of the system. The worst time when people quit smoking is the first 72 hours, but after that the physical craving for nicotine diminishes. The remainder of the addiction is considered mental, although there are physical aspects to it as well.
