10 things to do before you stop smoking
1. Decide why you want to become a non-smoker. Write the reasons.
2. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Everyone will benefit when you give up smoking.
3. Ask your friends not to smoke around you.
4. Give up smoking together with a friend. You can even make a contract with each other.
5. Postpone your first cigarette by one hour each day.
6. Limit yourself by a specific amount of cigarettes you'll smoke each day. For each additional cigarette give a dollar to charity.
7. Smoke only if you really want. Don't smoke because of your habit only.
8. Do not empty the ashtrays. They will remind you of how much you smoke. Moreover, they look and smell very unpleasant.
9. It is harder if you always think you will never smoke again. Don't!
10. Fill the day you plan to stop smoking with activities. Go in for sports, go to the cinema or to the theatre.
